Apple News | Steve Jobs Says: 'Nope' to Approved Only Apps for Mac OS 10.7

Steve Jobs was recently asked about the rumor of a Mac App Store for OS X 10.7.

-----
Hey Steve,

There's a rumor saying there will be a Mac App Store and no software without authorization from Apple will run on Mac OS X. Is that true?
-----

Nope.

Unfortunately, Job's short reply doesn't fully address the rumors. Apple could still offer authorized applications through a Mac App Store without blocking applications that are distributed directly.
